Uploading Documents
ScanPact accepts a wide range of document formats. Upload directly from the Dashboard or via the Telegram bot.
SUPPORTED FORMATS
PDF, DOCX, DOC, HTML, RTF, XLSX, ODT, CSV, TXT
PNG, JPG, WEBP, TIFF (OCR — text extracted from images)
- Maximum file size: 20 MB
- Drag-and-drop or click to browse — both work on the Dashboard upload zone.
- Upload one document per file. Files containing multiple separate documents will be rejected.
- For best OCR accuracy, use high-resolution, well-lit scans. Blurry or cropped images reduce analysis quality.
Understanding the Report
After analysis, ScanPact produces a structured report with four main components:
Risk Score
A 0–100 score indicating overall contract risk. Higher scores mean more or more severe red flags were found.
Red Flags
Each identified issue is categorized as Critical, Warning, or Info, with the exact clause from your document and a plain-language explanation plus recommendation.
Core Analyses
Beyond red flags, additional AI analyses (fraud detection, spell check, data extraction, and more) can be run from the Analysis Suite inside the document view.
Legal Opinion
Available on Business plan — a structured AI analysis of legal implications, risks, and compliance. Legal disclaimers apply — see Terms.

Downloading Reports
Save your analysis results as a formatted document for your records or to share with a lawyer.
- Available formats: PDF, DOCX, TXT.
- Downloading reports requires a Pro or Business subscription. Single Scan does not include report downloads.
- Inside the document view, click "Download Report" in the top action bar.
Downloaded reports include all AI analyses completed at the time of download. Make sure to download before the 24-hour auto-deletion window (Single Scan: 7 days).
Document History
Uploaded documents and their analyses are stored for a limited time depending on your plan:

You can manually delete all files and reports at any time from Settings → Data Management → Delete All Files & Reports.
After the retention period expires, documents and all associated analyses are permanently and automatically deleted from our servers.
Retention Management
ScanPact lets you control how long your uploaded files and analyses are stored before automatic permanent deletion. The setting is per-account and applies to all documents.
How it works
Every plan comes with a default retention of 24 hours. You can extend this up to your plan's maximum at any time from Settings → Document Retention. The retention setting applies to all files — old and new. When you extend retention, existing files automatically get the extra time. When you reduce it, files that fall outside the new window are deleted immediately or within 24 hours.
Upgrading a plan
When you upgrade to a higher plan, your retention cap increases. Existing files that were previously near expiry get extended to fit the new maximum. No files are deleted during an upgrade.
Downgrading a plan
When your plan is downgraded (e.g. subscription cancelled), a 48-hour grace period applies. During this window you can download any reports you want to keep. After the grace period, files that exceed the new plan's retention cap are permanently deleted. You will see a confirmation dialog before any manual retention reduction that would delete files.
Telegram Bot
Scan contracts without opening a browser. Send any document directly to the ScanPact Telegram bot and receive your analysis in the chat.

Buying additional scans
You can purchase extra scans at any time from the Pricing page or dashboard — on top of your existing plan or without one. Pricing is tiered: 1 scan = €7, 2 scans = €12 (10% off), 5 scans = €25 (28% off), all the way up to 10 scans = €41 (40% off).
If you have no active plan
Buying additional scans when you have no plan automatically sets your plan to Single. You immediately get Single-tier features (fraud detection, spell check, data extraction, EN↔EL translation) together with the scans you purchased.
If you already have Pro or Business
Additional scans add on top of your monthly quota — they stack. Your plan stays the same (Pro or Business), all plan features remain active, and the subscription renewal date is unchanged. The extra scans are consumed first, so your monthly quota is preserved for later in the billing cycle.
Extra scans inherit the document retention of your current plan (Single: 7 days, Pro: 30 days, Business: 90 days).
Privacy & Security
Protecting your documents is our top priority. Here is what we do:
- AES-256 encryption at rest for every uploaded document and analysis result.
- Automatic permanent deletion after your plan's retention period (24 hours for free accounts, 7 days for Single Scan, 30 days for Pro, 90 days for Business).
- Full GDPR compliance — data processed on EU infrastructure, with your rights to access, delete, and port your data.
- We never use your documents to train AI models.
- Handwriting Comparison and Signature Verification process biometric data under GDPR Article 9. Explicit consent is required before use, and all biometric data is automatically deleted within 24 hours.

FAQ / Troubleshooting
Common questions and solutions:
I cannot log in — what should I do?
First, check that your email address is verified. You should have received a confirmation link when you registered. If you have lost the link, use the "Resend verification email" option on the login page. If 2FA is enabled, make sure your authenticator app is time-synced or use a recovery code.
I have reached my monthly quota — can I still scan?
Once your monthly document quota is used, you cannot upload new documents until the next billing cycle. You can upgrade to a higher plan at any time to increase your quota immediately.
My file upload is failing — what formats are accepted?
Accepted formats: PDF, DOCX, DOC, HTML, RTF, XLSX, ODT, CSV, TXT, PNG, JPG, WEBP, TIFF. Maximum size is 20 MB. Make sure your file is not password-protected and does not contain multiple separate documents.
Why is my analysis taking a long time?
Most documents are analyzed in under 2 minutes. Large or complex documents (many pages, dense legal language) may take slightly longer. If analysis is still running after 5 minutes, refresh the page — the result is usually ready.
How do I delete my account and data?
Go to Settings → Data Management → Delete All Files & Reports to remove your documents. To fully delete your account and all personal data, contact [email protected] with the subject "Account Deletion Request".
The Telegram bot is not responding — what should I do?
Make sure you have linked your Telegram account using /link. If the bot was already linked, try /start to re-initialize the session. For persistent issues, contact support.
API
The ScanPact API is available exclusively on the Business plan. It allows you to integrate document analysis directly into your own applications and workflows.
With API access you can:

- Retrieve structured analysis results in JSON format.
